So this in my ‘About Me page’. – Because I know you are wondering.
My name is Buck Hicks and I am developer in the Three Rivers, Michigan area. I have been on the developer path since around 2000 where I started building Microsoft Access applications. When .Net became widely available I jumped on the Visual Basic .Net bandwagon and rode that all the way to 2012, when I made the switch to C#.
Today I primarily work on Desktop applications using a combination of C# and XAML for a small company in Battle Creek, Michigan. I have just started learning UWP, Unity 3D and Xamarin Mobile development for my educational enhancement. Update: In 2018 I added the editing of digital video and post production work to my skill set. Currently I have worked in a couple of different NLEs (non linear editors) but feel most comfortable in DaVinci Resolve. At this point, I am not sure how this skill set is going to fit into the rest of my professional career. I can say it is my favorite thing to do in my hobby time and there is no way that this hobby is not going to merge into my career path.
In 2019 my plan is to combine my love for video production with my desire to master ASP.Net Core. Right now I am not exactly sure how that is going to manifest itself but I am sure that you will hear about it on the main page of this site. So stay tuned for that.
